Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are the Breeders affiliated with this site?
A: No. The Breeders are not officially affiliated with this site. However, some of the members do occasionally visit the site.

Q: What happened to all of the content that was on the old site?
A: In early 2002, this site went through a much-needed overhaul. It was rebuilt completely from the ground up to provide more dynamic content and to make it easier to update. The old site had become cumbersome and very difficult to update. The new site has been rolled out in segments, with updates occurring every few weeks. Most of the old content is now available on the new site, and the rest should be up in the near future.

Q: Why won't the MP3's or videos download correctly?
A: Certain versions of Internet Explorer have problems downloading files that are created dynamically. As a result, when you click Save As from the File Download dialog box, Internet Explorer will save the HTML of the referrer document instead of the file that you are trying to download (i.e. It will ask you to save index.htm, instead of myfile.mp3). If you click Open from the File Download dialog box, you may be presented with additional dialog boxes until it finally opens the correct file.

This is a known bug in Internet Explorer 5.5, and may affect some other versions as well. To correct the problem, download the latest Service Pack. You can find more information in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

Internet Explorer Saves HTML Content Instead of the Active Document

Q: Why are the graphics on this site so lame?
A: The graphics on the site suck because, quite honestly, I don't have the time to make really fancy graphics for the site. I consider the content of the site to be more important, so adding or updating content takes precedence over changing the visual aesthetics of the site. Someday I do plan to change them to something more colorful though.

Q: When I try to download a video, I get a message saying "The video you have requested is not available...".
A: This message means that the video you are trying to view is not currently available on the site. This is due to the fact that only one or two videos can be available to download at a time. I have to do this to control bandwidth of the site. If I made all of the videos available to download at one time, my ISP would shut the site down because of the large number of downloads and the bandwith consumption.

Of course, I have long dreamt of purchasing more bandwidth. Unfortunately, bandwidth is expensive. With the current amount of traffic on the site, it would cost me about $500/month to purchase enough bandwidth to have unrestricted downloads.

Q: When I try to download an MP3 or video, I get a message saying "This site has reached is maximum bandwidth for this month.".
A: This message means that the monthly bandwidth for the site has been consumed. Multimedia files will not be available to download again until the following month.

Once again, this is due to the fact that this site has a limited abount of bandwidth each month. As a result, I have to control bandwidth of the site. Bandwidth is closely monitored, and if it exceeds a certain value, it will prevent anymore MP3's or videos from being downloaded. If I did not do this, my ISP would shut the site down because of the large number of downloads and the bandwith consumption.
